4 Quick Fashion Fixes
There is no avoiding last-minute fashion emergencies, so I have compiled a list of my 4 favorite quick fashion fixes. They are classics, but they always seem to come in handy in a pinch!
1. A peeling sweater. You may have heard that using a sweater shaver or even a basic razor is the best way to fix a peeling sweater, but sweater shavers can be a pain and shaver can make holes in your garments. Instead, try rubbing a piece of velcro along the fabric.
2. A jammed zipper. Rubbing soap or even a wax candle on the area of the zipper that is stuck will smooth the metal and make it run through the zipper with ease.
3. A snag in your tights or a loose button Both of these fashion emergencies can be fixed with a little clear nail polish. Dab some on the loose button thread to prevent it from unraveling further or brush some on a stocking snag to stop it in its tracks.

4. A ring that's too big Just because they didn't have your size doesn't mean you can't wear that cocktail ring. Simply use the pad of a clip-on earring, or even a small piece of the pad used on the bottom of furniture, and adhere it to the inside of the ring
What are some of your best quick fashion fixes?

nice!
These are all so good! Especially the last one... I've sent a couple of rings flying through classrooms and restaurants because they're too big for my fingers.
I am a fan of double sided tape... it can fix anything! Hems, buttons that fall out, too loose fabric around the cleavage, etc.
@not3000@xanga - amen to double sided tape
The button tip: It's much more practical and not that hard to just re-sew the button on. It will stay on longer, trust me. Otherwise, great tips!
I've never heard of any of these.
Usually when a ring is too big I put it on a bigger finger. XD
@Murphy_Rants@xanga - me too!
pretty good tips! :)
one of my fashoin fixes (or more like a diy)
If you have a button up cardigan that you are sick of or looks too boring,
changing the buttons can completely change the way it looks.
There's a lot of different types of buttons usually sold at craft stores,
anywhere from cute to fancy/sophisticated.
@Ashley Nicole Anders@facebook - sweater actually do "peel". As a matter of fact, they peel just like you peel a bananas.
The clear nail polish is probably the only cheap fix, I put a coat of thick dark color on the inside, let it dry for about an hour, and cover if with a Sally Hansen clear. That's the only thing I've ever heard besides paying to have someone professional seal it. good luuck:)
Oh my lord this is about to save my life. I have tiny hands and just a generally tiny figure, so every ring, even the extra small ones, are always too big. Now I can buy rings and actually use them!
holy crap you are a life safer. I have so many sweaters with fuzz on them and shavers take forever! Thanks = )
never heard of the clear nail polish trick, that's neat!
the velcro tip scares me.. i feel like it would snag my sweaters more.
Good tips, thanks!!!
