I've been hearing about this stone called moissanite that apparently is more clear, more sparkly and more lustrous than a diamond. Like a lot of girls, I have a Pinterest wedding board and it's cluttered with $10,000+ engagement rings that are incredibly out of my reach, so when I typed in "moissanite" on my Pinterest search I found ones that were just as beautiful... and they're literally a FIFTH of the price. So if any of you ladies are in the market for an engagement ring... read on!
I'm so traditional that I'm not sure if I'd make the jump from diamonds to moissanite, but hey it's worth a look and the rings are so beautiful. (Not like I'm getting married anytime soon...)
My quick moissanite disclaimer is that you rarely can purchase a moissanite ring from a jeweler pre-made. The easiest way to get a ring is to buy the stone from a site such as moissaniteco.com and take it to a jeweler to set it. The stones are normally around $400 for 1 carat, which is still such a great deal.
Or, check out this incredible Etsy shop that's virtually all beautiful moissanite engagement rings and bridal sets! I found three of my favorites and I will show them to you right now:
3 Stone Moissanite Engagement Ring, 1.5 carats total weight | $1,395 at RareEarth
Cushion Double Halo Moissanite Engagement Ring, 2 carats total weight | $1,825 at RareEarth
Platinum Moissanite Engagement Ring, 1.5 carats total weight | $1,724 at RareEarth
Lovelies, what do you think of the "diamond alternative" moissanite? Would you go for it, or are you a diamond lover?
