Last weekend, I donned a very unique dress that I think could either be loved or hated!
Many of my friends and I attended a clambake in Connecticut that we have been going to since our freshmen year of college. Since we are now seniors, this was our last clambake all together and we were quite distraught about it.
I found this funky dress at a sample sale at the Chelsea Market in Manhattan this summer, and couldn’t decide if I loved it or hated it. A few of my friends tagged along to the market with me, and helped me decide whether to buy the dress or not. One friend said she didn’t like it and I shouldn’t buy it, and the other said it looked great but I would need to get it hemmed.
I went with my instincts and bought the gown on sale for $60. There were two colors available, and I also asked my friends which one they preferred. They both liked the yellow/peach shade better, but I really thought the orange stood out more and was a prettier shade. I don’t usually wear orange, but all the colors in this gown really worked well with one another.
After I got it hemmed, I made its debut at the clambake, and the crazy colors and shape of the dress were well received! I got so many compliments on my dress and even read some lips of other people saying, “I love her dress,” to someone standing next to them as I was passing by!
Unfortunately, summer has ended and I’m not sure if this dress will keep me warm enough during the fall. Until next summer!
Lovelies, would you wear a dress as loud as this one?
