Yesterday, I had on one of my favorite documentaries while working, “The September Issue”. Just don’t tell Anna Wintour that I watch it while wearing sweats (okay, more like pajamas) while working in my home office.
Anyways, one scene that cracks me up, and also makes me roll my eyes, is when Vogue’s Editor at Large, Andre Leon Talley, has a tennis lesson….in his Ralph Lauren polo, and arrives with Louis Vuitton gear for everything from his tennis racket to sunglasses. You can watch the clip here.
A little over the top, no? I’d like to see him walk through a third world country and then go spend thousands on his tennis gear.
Is it appropriate to wear designer gear while working out and playing sports?

I don’t like the killjoy fashion poverty guilt trips. it would be like putting a third world country short video clip for people to watch before they can order fast food to make them feel bad because some people starve for days and here these people are ordering pre-prepared meals, and a dollar is like 100 dollars to them, so that 99 cents item is considered a luxury
likewise, andre’s LV is beyond sinful diva luxury
anyway, I think his outfit is funny. it doesn’t really give me the stuckup vibe if they are gay men, but on straight men, who dress like divas, then they seem more like douchebags(ex: spencer pratt)

if he want’s to spend thousands on tennis gear, it’s his choice. besides, he has to stay fabulous, he’s a fashion icon after all.

@KickDrumHeart@datingish - Damnit! That’s what I was gonna say

the LV is a bit LOL, but polos are totally tennis appropriate.

Wear Nike or Adidas or something. Who wear LV to play sports? lol.

He’s Andre Leon Talley, he can wear whatever the hell he wants.

It’s his money. If he wants to spend it on over-priced kit, that’s his perogative.

He is respected in fashion. he is Andre Leon Talley he can do what he wants and besides how do you not know if he donates to 3rd world countries.
